Jennifer worked with us in a number of capacities over several years, from examining and integrating global education frameworks, introducing and embracing Project-based Learning, and placing greater emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion within our classrooms.
Before working with Jennifer, global education was primarily expressed through international travel programs and was overseen primarily by the Global Education department. Through the years working with Jennifer, and continuing since, global education has become woven into the perspectives and approaches to learning across grades and subject areas as a fully embedded curriculum.
While the school’s academic program continues to evolve, the greater emphasis on Project-based Learning and global perspectives has increased student agency and representation within the learning process. It has been rewarding to see the Appleby College student, regardless of their personal origins and experiences, at the centre of the learning.
